Description

The Coroner for Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly is required to arrange the removal of bodies from the place of death to a designated mortuary or body holding facility in order to allow the investigation into any sudden, unexpected or unnatural deaths reported to them under The Coroner’s & Justice Act 2009. Cornwall's Senior Coroner manages the strategy for body transportation. The Police Control Centre or (occasionally) a Coroner’s Officer will instruct a service provider for collections from scene to a mortuary. Cornwall Council, the responsible body, uses a competitive tender process to appoint these service providers, ensuring efficient transport of bodies within the county, to Devon, or even nationally, as needed. The Council commissions this statutory service and the current contract is due to expire on 31/03/26. A new tender process needs to be completed.

AT1454 - Provision of Passenger transport Services

The Council offers travel assistance for SEN Children and Vulnerable Adults between home and school/day care where the social care provision for that individual allows for it. Under the Light Touch regime, an Approved Provider List is being set up to have a pool for vehicles and drivers to assist us with routes. The purpose of the Routes are to transport eligible individuals to and from their chosen destination safely and on time or at a time to suit the needs of the service requirements. This Must be in a provision that is clean, correctly maintained, appropriate to user needs and driven by courteous and respectful drivers who can attend to their specific needs, supported when required by passenger assistants. This Service delivers our statutory requirement to its users and includes transporting children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) assessed as needing transport to and from school/college as well as Vulnerable Adults and/or Vulnerable Children travelling to and from Day Centres, Resource Bases, and/or other establishments as part of their agreed social care provision. This service is subject to local and national pressure to improve assurances to the community regarding safeguarding vulnerable individuals. The overriding consideration for Luton Council is the safety of the children and vulnerable people in our care. Any Provider will be expected to ensure the highest standards in this regard. Providers shall comply with this Service Specification as applicable to each Lot and their relevant Passengers. Bus Depot Electrification Programme (Tranche 5+)

This requirement covers the procurement of a suitable contracting partner for the next tranche (Tranche 5) of electrical infrastructure requirements for TfGM Bus Depot Electrification Programme. TfGM are exploring options to procure a contracting partner to develop and deliver suitable proposals and infrastructure, for Tranche 5 (and potentially Tranche 6) of the Bus Depot Electrification Programme. Currently the design is at RIBA Stage 2 and the intention will be for the appointed contractor to progress this further to detailed design (RIBA Stage 4) through to future construction. Tranche 5 of the TfGM Bus Depot Electrification Programme includes Wigan and Wythenshawe. Tranche 6 projects are yet to be confirmed but is likely to include a number of additional depots of a similar size. This is the initial Procurement Notice and the intention is to issue a Market Engagement Notice early December 2025, followed by the Tender Notice in March 2026.
