Description

The Science Division (SD) of the Health and Safety Executive invites sealed tenders from qualified and experienced service providers to provide competitive quotations for the provision of an Electrolytic polisher and etcher for metallurgical preparation to replace/upgrade our existing equipment.
All the required equipment will be for our facility located at the HSE Science and Research Centre, Harpur Hill, Buxton, SK17 9JN.

Sizewell C (CWA) - Reinforcement Cut & Bend Plant, Equipment and Machinery

Sizewell C (CWA) is looking for establishing an onsite rebar cut & bend (C&B) facility. This onsite facility will process about 238,000t of reinforcement bar and coil for the project duration. The onsite facility will process the complex nuclear rebar requirements just in time to meet the programme requirements. At peak, the production capacity of the facility is estimated to be 5,250t per month of rebar from 2030 to 2036. Hence, the capacity and efficiency of the facility will rely on an optimised design layout and efficiency of the production machines to meet demand. The C&B production line will be programmed using rebar software, which must be compatible with the C&B machines. The scope of this proposed work package includes the design of the C&B facility's machine layout (including space provision for machine to be provided by others, such the coupling machines, manufacture, installation (mechanical and electrical), testing, commissioning and preventive maintenance (software updates, scheduled checks and servicing of machines to replace worn parts, calibration, safety checks, etc.) for a comprehensive turnkey factory comprising of: 1) Shearing machines which will be utilised in the cutting or trimming of the straight rebar into desired length. This may include the following: a) Automatic shearline machines b) Automatic shearline bar loader c) Manual shearline machines 2) Off-coil machines to be used in the in the off-coil processing of rebar typically up to rebar of 20mm in diameter. This may include the following: a) Coil straightening machine b) Stirrup shearing and bending machines c) Automatic link unloading system 3) Bending machines to be used in bending lengths of rebar with the angle on bends preset and adjusted to suit project requirements. This may include the following types: a) Automatic bending machines b) Manual bending machines c) Radius bending machines 4) Transportation and buffer systems: a) Automatic and manual conveyors b) Automatic (e.g. Autorack) and manual racks (including raw material storage) 5) Work packaging system a) Automatic loading system b) Stackable platform packaging system 6) Software a) Raw material management system b) Scheduling and production management system c) Lifetime Quality Record system d) Logistics management system
