Description

Following the announcement in the June 2025 Spending Review, the Chancellor and the Secretary of State for Transport confirmed that the £3 National Bus Fare Cap Scheme (£3 NBFC), which had been scheduled to end in December 2025, will now be extended until 31 March 2027.This discretionary scheme, which has been in place since 2023, supports affordable travel by capping single bus fares outside London and has been a key element of the Government's post-pandemic bus policy to support local services. This contract will support the strategic and operational delivery of the £3 NBFC scheme and in preparing an eventual exit strategy from the scheme. VAT Unknown.

Bus Depot Electrification Programme (Tranche 5+)

This requirement covers the procurement of a suitable contracting partner for the next tranche (Tranche 5) of electrical infrastructure requirements for TfGM Bus Depot Electrification Programme. TfGM are exploring options to procure a contracting partner to develop and deliver suitable proposals and infrastructure, for Tranche 5 (and potentially Tranche 6) of the Bus Depot Electrification Programme. Currently the design is at RIBA Stage 2 and the intention will be for the appointed contractor to progress this further to detailed design (RIBA Stage 4) through to future construction. Tranche 5 of the TfGM Bus Depot Electrification Programme includes Wigan and Wythenshawe. Tranche 6 projects are yet to be confirmed but is likely to include a number of additional depots of a similar size. This is the initial Procurement Notice and the intention is to issue a Market Engagement Notice early December 2025, followed by the Tender Notice in March 2026.
