This project expands on previous work that developed the Decision-Making Thresholds (DMT) to 2030, that was published in 2021. The DMT is an evidence-based approach for determining when a proposal and the emissions it gives rise to are considered "nugatory" in the context of ecological risk assessment. They inform a range of uses from decision-making about new or existing proposals to broader policy development and focussing effort to address air pollution effects on ecosystems.

North Killingholme Haven Pits SSSI is near Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, on the south bank of the Humber Estuary (central grid reference TA1662919816). The privately owned,16ha, site comprises former clay pits which have developed into saline lagoons. It is within the Humber Estuary Special Protection Area/Ramsar site and is of international importance for non-breeding waterfowl. The site is connected to the Humber Estuary by a manually operated sluice in the flood bank, which allows for the regulated exchange of tidal water. The sluice is over 50 years old and is not fully functioning due to siltation, and health and safety concerns regarding its operation. The aims of the investigation are to assess the existing sluice, and appraise the options for management of water levels to achieve the site objectives. Outputs include concept designs and estimated costs. A site visit is required to understand the site and the constraints, and assess the existing sluice. Provision of Statutory Testing, Servicing and Reactive Repair Services

The Client is seeking to appoint a single Principal Contractor to deliver the full scope of services: 1) Statutory compliance maintenance and PPM across in-scope mechanical, electrical and specialist systems and services 2)Reactive maintenance in line with the response model in Response Times. 3)Technical support and management of specialist subcontractors engaged under this Contract. 4) 24/7 operations support for emergencies. 5) professional services as required to support the Client’s compliance and project delivery, including but not limited to: Statutory inspection reports, testing certificates and compliance advice. Technical support in scoping and specifying remedial works. Design and commissioning input for plant/equipment replacement. CDM 2015 Principal Contractor role where applicable; and Attendance at project meetings, site inspections, and stakeholder briefings. While elements of the service may be subcontracted, the Successful Bidder will remain the sole point of contact for the Client and will retain full responsibility for the coordination, management, and successful delivery of all aspects of the contract.
