Description

In 1918 HMS CASSANDRA was part of a British force dispatched to the Baltic as part of the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War. On 5 December 1918 while en-route to Tallinn, CASSANDRA struck a mine and sank one hour later. The wreck of HMS CASSANDRA lies 36 kms west of Vilsandi, Estonia at a water depth of 95 - 100 meters.
This contract is for the provision of services to conduct a wreck survey of HMS CASSANDRA. The survey shall determine the condition of the vessel and the likely amounts of pollutants/ammunition remaining onboard. The survey shall comprise a visual and multibeam echosounder (MBES) examination of the wreck with hull thickness measurements using a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). This will see potential providers provide a turn key solution to the requirement, including provision of a vessel, work class ROV, SQEP personnel to conduct the survey and a written report of the findings. Contractors must have suitable environmental protection measures in place and must secure all necessary permissions from the Estonian government as part of the turnkey solution.
The contract duration will be five (5) months to enable mobilisation and survey report delivery.
