Description

Medium Level Support (MLS) is a strand of support offered to schools via the English Hub programme. MLS is a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) offer which includes targeted support, CPD programmes and workshops. Some MLS is directed at specific local needs but there are also a small number of 'centralised' programmes which each target a more widespread need and represent a consistent offer delivered across all 34 hubs.

The supplier will design and develop a quality, evidence-based centralised MLS programme on reading fluency, for delivery by the English Hubs from Autumn term 2025. The CPD will comprise 6 sessions, delivered across a minimum of two terms of the academic year focussed on increasing subject knowledge in reading fluency, and providing teachers with practical, evidence based classroom techniques and strategies they can take back and implement in their classrooms to improve pupil's reading fluency.   This CPD to be targeted towards teachers in later KS2 after the majority of children have successfully completed their Systematic Synthetic Phonics (SSP) programme and can accurately decode. The supplier will also be designing and delivering 'train the trainer' sessions to prepare facilitators from English Hubs to begin delivery of the CPD from Autumn term 2025.

The contract began on 28 April 2025 and will run until the end of the financial year, 31 March 2026.

Review & Redevelopment of Media Initiative for Children - The Respecting Difference Programme.

As part of the ASPIRE Shared Learning Project, the Media Initiative's materials will be refreshed, updated, and redesigned to ensure their continued relevance and effectiveness for a new generation of children and educators in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The ASPIRE Project is a shared education initiative, funded through PEACEPLUS, and aimed at providing direct and sustained contact between children from all backgrounds. The tender specifically requires a comprehensive review and redesign of the existing programme material currently used for early years children. This process will involve evaluating the current content, identifying areas for improvement and updating material to ensure it aligns with recent thinking in relation to educational and child developmental needs. Given the cross-border nature of the ASPIRE project, it is also crucial that the refreshed MIFC programme also aligns with relevant curricula in the Republic of Ireland. The overall objective of this tender is to create a modern, versatile programme that is engaging and will support early learning outcomes for the settings. The redesigned material should incorporate interactive, as well as physical, elements. This should foster creativity and interaction from the children. The final product should be supportive and easy for the stakeholders to implement and support consistency in program delivery across different children's abilities.
