Description

This contract relates to the maintenance and inspection of the 250 m long rock face on the A170 Sutton Bank. The works briefly comprise vegetation clearance and scaling of the rock face as required, and inspection of all installed 2024 remedial works to check the functionality of the system and to determine if advanced corrosion of any components is occurring.

Downs to the Sea - Wet and Wadery

The wetland at RSPB Pulborough Brooks has potential to be a haven for breeding waders and wildfowl. However, there is little control over water on the site. This means that during flood events in winter, water cannot leave site quickly enough. However, when the water levels do drop, they fall too far, and water becomes scarce. By installing 4 new hydrological structures, water control can be regained across the site to create ideal habitat for the flora and fauna found on the SSSI. Access around site is also very difficult which hinders management. Upgrading tracks so they are solid will make management possible in areas that are sometimes inaccessible. North Acton to Hanger Lane Cutting Remedial Work

Transport for London (TfL) has identified that cuttings CTS 7 and CTS 8 between North Acton and Hanger Lane require remedial works to stabilise the cutting. The combined length of the cuttings is approximately 1100m. The assets are susceptible to pore pressure levels (the pressure of groundwater in the soil or rock) and displacements and are considered a high risk. Due to the increased number of prolonged rainfall events over the recent years, soil pore pressure build up has become more common and the asset is at greater risk of failure. In 2017, TfL Engineering produced a detailed design for remediating the asset which consisted of; Discrete Bored Piles Discrete H-Piles King Post Wall Asset drainage Re-grading After the detailed design was completed, the business decision was to pause the project due to funding constraints faced by the business. Due to the criticality of this asset and the continued deterioration of the cutting, the project has been reinitiated.

BBV HS2 MWCC North - Access Doors, Handrails and Steel Fabrications

Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) have been awarded HS2 main works civils contracts for the Area North project in the West Midlands. We are looking to engage with an experienced contractor supply chain who provide Site Survey, Detailed Design (including shop drawings), Manufacture, Delivery and Installation works, for Structural Access Doors, Handrails and Other Steel Fabrications. Full details and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of this project and should assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works, prior to completing this expression of interest (EOI). Additional information: Scope and Bill for the tender pack will be based on quantities and high level designs. It will be expected the winning tenderer to complete site surveys to confirm sizes and quantities to ensure a right first time delivery and installation.
