Description

The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is a significant infrastructure project designed to address congestion and pollution at the Dartford Crossing, the only road crossing of the River Thames east of London. The project includes the construction of twin-bore tunnels and a dual carriageway linking the M25 at Junctions 28 and 30 to the A2, east of Gravesend.

An ecological habitat is required to be created for the Lower Thames Crossing - Kent Roads to translocate species from other areas of the project. These works are likely to be required in Autumn 2025.
The work consists of the following elements:
•	Removal of existing and installation of new post and three rail fencing
•	Construction of ecological ponds
•	Turf stripping and topsoil treatment for planting
•	Installation of road access bell mouth
•	Tree and bush planting
The works shall be subject to checks by ecologists and other the ecological constraints like tree preservation orders, birdnesting season, and other reptiles, GCN, Badgers etc.
The operatives involved in the works shall be Competent with relevant qualifications and competency cards(Lantra/CSCS) and have a Highway Passport.
