Description

The Department for Transport (DfT) produces Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) that consists of software tools and guidance on transport modelling and appraisal methods. This guidance enables analysts to undertake evidence-based appraisal and development of transport interventions, which support business cases and inform investment funding decisions.

The Department for Transport (DfT) is seeking proposals from the market to:

1) Review the current high-level guidance in TAG and propose potential changes to stream-line this part of the guidance, so that the high-level advice is easy and simple to read, as well as useful to readers.

2) Write a draft short guidance unit outlining the purpose and principles of modelling and appraisal, which covers not just the importance and usefulness of transport models for appraisal but also for vision-led strategic planning and policy testing. It also needs to cover the key principles of appraisal and the importance to consider all impacts with appropriate evidence.

4821/JN/25 - Mobile Clinic Unit Partner for Supporting Community Based Prostate Cancer Screening

The purpose of this procurement exercise is to secure a vehicle based mobile clinic unit partner to support the delivery of Work Package 2 (WP2) within the IMProVE study, with a focus on improving equitable access to prostate cancer screening. The IMProVE study's full title is "Prostate cancer screening using a risk adapted PSA/image-based approach: Pilot study for a Yorkshire wide comparison with Standard care". The study is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research and is being run in collaboration with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and the University of Sheffield (study sponsor). WP2 pilots community-based prostate cancer screening in Leeds and Sheffield, combining targeted invitations and community outreach to recruit eligible men for PSA blood testing and optional saliva sampling via vehicle based mobile clinic units. Participants are randomised to either standard NHS care or an image-based pathway, with follow-up diagnostics and referrals managed within the NHS. It is anticipated that 45,000 men will be invited to take part in screening, with uptake estimated to be 4,500 men (10%). This is an open exercise.
