Description

Following a successful application for funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Rustington Parish Council is seeking to appoint a contractor with extensive experience and a proven track record of the design, supply and installation of Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGA), to undertake the resurfacing of the existing MUGA and the disposal and replacement of its existing boundary metal fencing.
The Council has ownership and responsibility for The Woodlands Recreation Ground within the Parish of Rustington, on the South Coast of West Sussex. The Recreation Ground is approximately 7.5 acres in size and is home to the Village Football and Cricket Clubs. The site accommodates one full size football pitch, Cricket Square, a Play Area and is the location of several of the Council's properties including the Village Hall and a separate Youth Centre.

The most recent Operational Inspection (see attached) undertaken by an independent contractor has highlighted the deterioration of the existing MUGA which has now been in situ in excess of 15 years. The Parish Council now seeks a qualified and experienced contractor to undertake the works required to bring the existing MUGA up to a modern, sustainable and robust standard. The estimated value of this contract is between £40,000.00 and £50,000.00 excluding VAT.

The Council will make a decision by the 27 September 2024.

The Tender must be sent by email no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 21 August 2024 to [email protected] The email should be clearly marked as "Private and Confidential - Ref: RPC-MUGA". Confirmation of receipt will be issued. Hard copy submissions are not required.

Additional information: 29/07/2024 - Ammendments have been made to the specification of the required MUGA:
1) Fence height reduced from 5m down to 3m
2) Surfacing - an alternative to macadem can be proposed
25/07/2024 -The following answers were given following an email enquiry requesting further design details:
Re the Target Wall we are really open to ideas and designs, we're just looking for something that gives options for interaction and play beyond basketball and football matches. The current MUGA does not have anything like this, and we believe that it would be a great addition but don't want to be too prescriptive.

RoSPA Report - a similar report detailing the compliance of the equipment to the required safety standards would be sufficient.

Bike Racks - 4 simple hoops, either individual or in a "toast rack" style as long as they are securely fixed into the ground.

ED0329-24 - PNF - 1030 District Wide Car Park Resurfacing Works

East Devon District Council Request the provision of works of resurfacing 2No. car parks as below: Foxholes Car Park is located in Exmouth (SY01234 79976) with entrance and exit access via Queen’s Drive. The tarmac surfaced car park has a linear raised kerbed walkway running north to south with a vehicle ramp to access the east portion of the car park. A newly installed public toilet resides on the western face alongside. Two pedestrian ramps provide access from the north west corner of the car park to elevated chalets buildings. The car park’s surfacing has multiple potholes and large areas of scouring which requires full resurfacing, last undertaken in 2004. There have also been utility trench excavations with subsequent resurfacing leading to separation and further deterioration. The existing levels overall falls from north to south, feeding to 2No. drainage gullies on the eastern portion and the entrance bellmouth in the western portion of the car park. Land of Canaan (Canaan Way) Car Park is located in Ottery St Mary (SY09520 95571) with entrance and exit access via Fairmile Lane. The car park is bisected by a brick paving road providing access to both southern and northern portions. There is dense vegetation and mature trees surrounding the car park as well as 3No. vegetation islands with shrubbery and tress varying in size. The car park has prevailing fall from south to north towards two sets of linear slot drains that are heavily silted with limited function. At the northwest portion there are 4No. drainage gullies that discharge surface run off to the nearby watercourse. The surfacing has degraded through out the years with large potholes with existing stone coming away from the surface. With an increase in standard parking bays the existing kerbing will need to be adjusted to accommodate alongside the introduction of 3No. coach bays on the southern portion of the site.
