Description

Derbyshire County Council (The Council) Children’s Services Catering Service is seeking a single Supplier for the provision of the supply and delivery of frozen food for schools and establishments located within the geographical area of Derbyshire and neighbouring counties.
This contract will provide frozen food to two areas of the Council as well as Derby City Council:
•	Schools located within Derbyshire and in counties that share a boundary with Derbyshire, that trade with Derbyshire County Council Catering Service.
•	Derbyshire County Council’s Adult Social Care & Health Services will use this contract for the supply to residential homes for older people and day centres.
•	The contract will also be used by Derby City Council to supply products for their children’s residential homes and homes for older people.

PEP/ES/School Establishment Statutory Milk Contract 2025

The Council wishes to appoint a provider for the supply of Subsidised School Milk for schools, nurseries, academies, free schools and other educational establishments. The supplier will supply and deliver the School Milk to the settings and do the associated administration where required. Bristol City Council (BCC) Bristol City Maintained Schools, Early Years Settings, Academy Schools and other educational establishments. Please see section 09 (‘School Locations’) for listing and details of BCC schools and settings (currently committed partners). Bath & North East Somerset Council (BANES) BANES has requested to be named in this tender as there is a possibility that BANES schools MAY join this contract at a later date. The estimated value range for BANES is £60k - £65k and this will increase the overall annual value range proportionately. Provision of Milk, Dairy, Eggs and Associated Services

The Council has previously procured its milk and dairy products as part of a wider collaborative framework. The Council is however keen to ensure that food procurement aligns with the Councils ambition to be a zero-carbon county and its wider policies for decarbonisation and socially responsible procurement. The Council has also undertaken a review of its supply requirements including lotting, supply chain resilience and distribution and delivery needs which has necessitated a stand-alone procurement process to reflect our revised needs. We have introduced an alternative lotting strategy to enable micro and Small Medium Enterprises to access this procurement process, to increase supply chain resilience for essential commodities and to reflect the distribution requirements and geographic extent of the County.
