Description

The Council has previously procured its milk and dairy products as part of a wider collaborative framework. The Council is however keen to ensure that food procurement aligns with the Councils ambition to be a zero-carbon county and its wider policies for decarbonisation and socially responsible procurement.
The Council has also undertaken a review of its supply requirements including lotting, supply chain resilience and distribution and delivery needs which has necessitated a stand-alone procurement process to reflect our revised needs. We have introduced an alternative lotting strategy to enable micro and Small Medium Enterprises to access this procurement process, to increase supply chain resilience for essential commodities and to reflect the distribution requirements and geographic extent of the County.

PEP/ES/School Establishment Statutory Milk Contract 2025

The Council wishes to appoint a provider for the supply of Subsidised School Milk for schools, nurseries, academies, free schools and other educational establishments. The supplier will supply and deliver the School Milk to the settings and do the associated administration where required. Bristol City Council (BCC) Bristol City Maintained Schools, Early Years Settings, Academy Schools and other educational establishments. Please see section 09 (‘School Locations’) for listing and details of BCC schools and settings (currently committed partners). Bath & North East Somerset Council (BANES) BANES has requested to be named in this tender as there is a possibility that BANES schools MAY join this contract at a later date. The estimated value range for BANES is £60k - £65k and this will increase the overall annual value range proportionately. Supply of Prisoner and Non-Prisoner Food

The Authority is undertaking this procurement, via the Open procedure, with the aim of awarding to a single supplier to provide the provision of food and drink products across across the prison estate in England and Wales; this equates to a population of approximately 87,400 prisoners (as of 26th July 2024) in addition to provision for some staff facilities and visitor centres. This provision aids the Authority in fulfilling its statutory and policy obligations in relation to ensuring prisoners have access to food and drink. The Authority requires a single supplier with the ability to perform the specification as set out in the Invitation to Tender. The contract will be let on the basis of an initial term of 03/05/2026 to 02/05/2031. Further options are available which may take the total contract term to an end date of 02/05/2034 on a 2 years (03/05/2031 to 02/05/2033) plus 1 year (03/05/2033 to 02/05/2034) basis. Price review clauses also apply at regular intervals throughout the contract term as detailed in the Terms and Conditions.
