Buckle Close is a development of 37 flats which are currently being constructed. This consists of a large block of 34 flats which are built from structural masonry, ground bearing concrete floor slab (to be constructed on site by others) and three levels which will each have precast concrete floor slabs. There is also an additional 2 storey block of 3 flats which will have a beam and block ground floor and an upper floor with precast concrete floor slabs.\r
Buckle Close is a development of social housing which has a mix of 30 flats for social rent and 7 flats for shared ownership. This block will provide much needed housing for Luton which will provide modern good quality housing. It will allow people who cannot obtain suitable private rented accommodation, or to own a home of their own, to have a decent place to live.\r

The B1014 Somnes Avenue and the A130 Canvey Road border the site boundaries. Know hazards associated with the works include (but are not limited); •Working at height [upon the roof/scaffold], risk of falls, •Working on a roof deck [above the swimming pool], •Dropping materials and tools from height. •Unauthorised access and the risk of vandalism •Vehicular access risk of collision, deliveries and access through the Waterside Farm LC site and carpark •Scaffold erection/removal and risk of collapse & risk of obstructing emergency routes from the Leisure Centre •The Scaffold design, by placing loads on the existing building •Risk of damage to the existing external M&E Plant and equipment to the western side elevation located on the adjacent flat roof.)
