1941 Community Staff Vaccination Training for NHS Black Country ICB

Provision of Community Staff Vaccination Training for NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board. The Black Country Integrated Care Service serves a population of 1.26 million people across four localities with four local authorities in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton. It is an area proud of its industrial past and technological future and embraces its demographic diversity as a key component of the area's character and strength. It is also a place that is aware of its considerable challenges. The lives of Black Country residents are heavily influenced by a unique set of characteristics including high levels of deprivation, low skills levels, and high unemployment. Its multi-cultural communities differ greatly in terms of culture, faith. ethnic diversity, age, social challenges and a varied engagement with health and support services. Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton are above the national average for deprivation whilst Dudley is on par with the national average. The Black Country is the second most deprived Integrated Care System in the country and nationally 20% of the population in the Black Country live in the most deprived quintile. This Community Staff Training project is an extraordinary opportunity to pilot a training programme for the Black Country NHS Community Staff funded currently as a "one off" via NHSE Access and Inequalities funding to explore the concept of motivating and enabling a cross spectrum of staff with multiple skill sets and experiences with varying patient touchpoints to provide the right support and information for patients to make decisions on vaccination uptake and health and personal wellbeing issues.
