Description

The supply of labour only for an improvement program to help increase the class 458/5
reliability and general condition, increasing customers satisfaction. The supply of a
dilapidation program for the class 458/5 to ensure the fleet is returned, as best as possible,
to its original state with minimal defects. Internal records shall be kept, and signature trail of
works completed as well as completing work orders. Staff must have in depth technical
knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems for the Class 458 Fleet specifically, as
this is a unique fleet of trains maintained and operated by South Western Railway. 
As part of this tender, we are looking for the following operatives, to work specifically on our
34 x 5 car Class 458 units, carrying out both ad-hoc repairs and exams, working the shifts as
detailed below. 
• Manager to work Mon-Fri (10 Hr Shifts), 
• 2 Technicians to work Mon-Fri Days and Sun-Thurs nights alternating shifts (10 hour
Shifts), 
• 8 Technicians to work 4 on 4 off days and nights all on separate shifts, (12 Hour Shifts).
SWR to provide: Depot Inductions, Testing & Maintenance Documentation, Any task specific
training, Welfare Facilities, Segregated waste disposal, competency assessments to SWR
standards, Scope of Work, Assist with project management and unit availability (times and
locations), any specialist tooling and test equipment, all materials to be free issued. 
Supplier to provide: RAMs (to be approved by SWR before commencement of works), any

WPP's, local supervision, competency profiles of staff, Technical advice, Drugs and Alcohol
screening in line with SWR policies, Project Management, Experienced, highly qualified
resource conversant specifically with Class 458 units, any PPE & uniform required, relevant
tooling and means of asset protection. 
Contract duration is to commence on the 8th January 2023 and finish on 30th September
2023, with a built in possible 3 month extension period to 31st December 2023. Place of
work will be at Wimbledon Traincare Depot, Durnsford Road, Wimbledon. London. SW19
8EG. Possible requirement to work some shifts at Bournemouth, although this is only a
possibility at this stage.

Agency Workers 071-2024 Provision of (FOH), (BOH) & Kitchen for Manchester Central Convention Complex

Manchester Central is currently looking for suppliers to provide agency workers for a range of Event Hospitality Services across multiple locations. Transportation to some locations will be required and must be provided by the supplier as well as all associated costs to be covered by the supplier at no charge to Manchester Central. For clarity induction time is not chargeable to the Company. Manchester Central will reserve the right to audit twice yearly. The Contract will be for a period of two (2) years from the commencement date of services with a Manchester Central only option to extend for a further period of twelve months. The contract value for 2 years is estimated at £1.4 million Manchester Central is committed to ensuring that all agency workers receive the National Living Wage and then the Real Living Wage once trained as an hourly rate of pay. As such the Company has fixed the rates that agency providers are required to pay to their staff (as a minimum rate of pay) and has hence fixed the rates it will pay agencies for the provision of services under this tender. The proposed rates (being the current rates of pay and chargeable rates) are set out in Appendix 2 along with the mechanism for uplifting annually in line with increases to the National Living Wage and the Real Living Wage. Untrained workers (see criteria for trained workers below) and trained workers must be paid the National Living Wage or Real Living Wage irrespective of age and the chargeable rates for such untrained workers are also set out in Appendix 2 along with the future pricing mechanism. For clarity if the contract is extended the pricing mechanism shall continue as per the initial two years. This tender is therefore quality and sustainability focused as prices payable are fixed.
