Carers Support Service

The Authority invites response to this Invitation to Tender (ITT) from suitably qualified suppliers ("Suppliers") on the Isle of Wight for the provision of a Carers Support Service. The Carer Support Service will be available for adults, including young adult carers (over the age of 18) who support a person who lives on the Isle of Wight and will support anyone who provides unpaid care for a family member or friend who due to age, illness, disability, a mental health problem, or additional needs cannot cope without that support. Contract details The contract period is from 1st August 2025 until 31st July 2029 with the option to extend the contact for a further period of up to 24 months at the sole discretion of the Authority.

The Care Act places a duty on local authorities to identify people in their area who might have support needs that are not being met and to ensure that services are available to prevent their care needs from becoming more serious, or delay the impact of their needs and ensure adults requiring support get the information and advice they need to make good decisions about care and support. To meet the requirements stated above Cambridgeshire County Council is inviting tenders for a Community Navigator Service which a contributes to Cambridgeshire County Council's delivery of universal services and early intervention and is an element of our demand management arrangements. The service is designed to support people to maintain independence in their own homes and communities therefore reducing the demand on statutory services.
