MKCC Fire Door Replacements

Milton Keynes City Council (the Council) are required to meet all statutory obligations in relation to our Housing stock. The Housing stock asset management function is controlled by the Council's Housing Maintenance and Investment (HMI) team. The Council are currently out to tender for the provision of Fire Door replacements for block properties, including dwelling entrance, internal communal, service cupboard doors, and loft hatches. All sites are within the Milton Keynes postal code region. Any sites which fall outside of this region will be advised in the mobilisation period. The Council proposes to enter into a contract that will be for an initial term of 2 years with an option for the Council to extend for 2 years with the successful tenderer (Service Provider) unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract. The estimated value for Fire Door Replacement contract is £5.75M (ex. VAT) for the maximum potential contract period of 4 years. The spend under the contract is dependent on the quantities of installations ordered during the term of the Contract. The estimated value is indicative only, and the Council does not guarantee to Tenderers the volume of installations ordered. The Council has not engaged with the market prior to issuing the ITT as it has already developed the most appropriate specification for the works they require to be procured. The requirements for Fire doors are set out in Building Regulation (Fire Safety: Approved Document B), and other legislation with robust British Standards in place for the testing and certification of fire doors and therefore there is a robust specification in place meeting the Council's needs.
