DPS21 - Upskilling and Reskilling: Retrofit - CAN

Notice to confirm the award of call-off contracts under the WMCA Adult Skills Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the delivery of short adult skills courses to upskill and reskill in the retrofit sector. This procurement was split into 3 Lots: Lot 1: EV Charging Points, Lot 2: Heat Pump Installation and Lot 3: Co-ordination and Assessment. Following the call-off competition process, 3 providers were successful in being awarded a call-off contract. Contracts have a duration of 2 months, expiring on 31st March 2025 and include 3 x 12-month options to extend to a final expiry date of 31st March 2028.

Skills Bootcamps DPS : Engineering & Manufacturing : Second call off competition

Skills Bootcamps offer flexible, primarily level 3 - 5 equivalent courses of up to 16 weeks in technical skills which are free to eligible adult learners. They give adults the opportunity to build up in-demand, sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer - supporting adults to move into well-paid jobs and helping employers to fill much-needed vacancies. Unemployed, employed and self-employed adults can be eligible for a Skills Bootcamp; they can be used to support an unemployed person into a job, an employed adult into a different job in another organisation or to gain another role or other responsibilities in the same organisation, or a self-employed adult to gain new opportunities. They also support groups such as those returning to work after a break, ex-veterans and eligible prisoners within 6 months of release. There is a clear expectation that employers are involved in the whole end-to-end delivery of Skills Bootcamps; and where an employer is using a Skills Bootcamp to train up a current employee, they must contribute towards the costs of the Skills Bootcamp. The Dynamic Purchasing System was launched in November 2022. This Contract Award Notice is for the contracts awarded under the Engineering & Manufacturing category.
