Assisted Conception is when a person or couple get pregnant (conceive) with the assistance of medical intervention (treatment). The Assisted Conception services include: • In vitro fertilisation (IVF) • IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) • Intrauterine insemination (IUI) The different treatments available can involve the use of donated eggs and sperm. This is a zero-based contract based on activity and local prices. The contract expenditure for 2023/24 was £4,200. This notice is for a Direct Award C PSR process to commence from the 11th of October 2024, the lifetime value of the contract to the value of c. £4,200. Under the test for considerable change this is within the permitted criteria (not exceeding £500,000 and 25%).

Head and Neck Outpatient and Diagnostics Support

The activity relates to carrying out initial outpatient consultations for patients who have been waiting for more than a year on the waiting lists of specific surgeons in the hospital. There is insuffiicient capacity in existing NHS core hours to carry out the surgery for these patients and so we are seeking additional capacity from outside of the NHS. The activity in scope of the outsourcing relates to specific surgeons who have practising privileges to operate privately at this particular Independent Sector Provider - Circle Meriden. The advantages of ensuring the continuity of the surgeon is that if the patient requires surgery, this will be carried out by the same surgeon in an NHS setting, avoiding the need for further outpatient review or repeat diagnostic tests which saves both time and money, and is less demanding on the patient. We are seeking similar outsourcing arrangements at other ISPs where the same circumstances apply - the determining factors being continuity of carer for the patient, geographical proximity and transport links, and length of time that patients would be required to wait.

Independent Sector Hospital Services for BLMK ICB

NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) ICB was seeking independent sector hospital service(s) providers for the provision of elective care services which meets the ICB's requirement on a set of standard terms and conditions. The proposed contract relates to healthcare services in respect of which the patient is offered a choice in relation to the provider. This is a consultant led choice service and therefore meets the requirements of a choice lead service for patients (as set out in Part 8 of the NHS Commissioning Board and Clinical Commissioning Group (Responsibilities and standing rules) Regulations 2012). The service provider was required to operate a site offering the relevant services from within the BLMK ICB geographical area that the ICB considers appropriate to enable its patients to access the services. Based on the current activity levels it is anticipated that the contract will have an estimated lifetime value of £11,500,000 (paid in line with NHS Payment Scheme) for the period 1st April 2024 to 30th September 2026. This notice is being published on behalf of NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) ICB in compliance with the transparency requirements of the regulations.

This is a contract award notice and is intended to provide notice of NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (herein "the Authority")'s intention to award a contract to deliver Tier 2 Carpal Tunnel Services to the patients within Mid and South Essex's geographical footprint. The Authority intends to enter into a contract for 12 months, from 01st April 2024 - 31st March 2025 . The aggregate contract value is forecasted at £89,000. The Service to which this procurement relates fall within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as amended by as amended by The Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, (the "Regulations"). As such, the Authority does not intend to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations, save those applicable to Schedule 3 Services. The provider is considered most technically capable of providing the most economically advantageous solution to the Authority under the current environment whilst the ICB undergoes restructure, review and alignment of contracts. The Authority is applying the NHS Standard Contract Terms and Conditions to support a combination of services, all of which are part funded under a single clinical contract, to ensure appropriate clinical governance and service delivery quality as well as consistency of service to patients. It is noted that the nature of the contract is non-guarantee of activity and technically valued at £0.00. The Authority has utilised actual activity figured from 2022/23 in order to forecast the aggregate contract value of The aggregate contract value of £89,000.
