Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities - Open Framework

Cumberland council has awarded 4 providers on to the Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities. The objective of the Targeted Short Break Activities service is to provide families of children and young people with SEND with a short break from each other. This is to give families a break from their caring responsibilities and the child or young person an opportunity to take part in a fun activity. It is the expectation that all Activities will take place in a location within Cumberland. For Activities that include day trips to outside of Cumberland, these should start from a location in Cumberland.

Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities - Open Framework

Cumberland Council is advertising an Open Framework for providers to deliver Targeted Short Breaks for Children with Disabilities.\r The Council is conducting the procurement of this framework using the open procedure in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR) for the purpose of procuring the services described in the Service Specification.\r \r There are Five Lots - \r Lot 1: Weekend Activities\r Lot 2: School Holiday Activities\r Lot 3: School Holiday Activities in Cumberland Special Schools\r Lot 4: Activities based on Specific Needs\r Lot 5: Innovation\r \r The Council will seek to open the Framework to new applications as stated within the ITT.\r It shall be at the Council's sole discretion to open the Framework to new applications more or less frequently, and to decide how long the tender period is open for each time. The Council reserves the right to close the Framework to new applications if in the opinion of the Council there is good reason to do so. In the event the Council determines to exercise its discretion to close the Framework to new applications, it will notify its intention and the period which the Framework will be closed on Find a Tender.\r \r The estimated total value of the Framework for the 16 Months initial term is £241,217.33 excluding VAT. The estimated total value for the initial term plus the one 12 month optional extension is £392,044.33 excluding VAT. The Council does not guarantee any spend against this Framework Agreement.\r \r You must be registered on The Chest (https://www.the-chest.org.uk/) to access the tender documents. Day Opportunities Framework for people with a learning disability, mental health condition, autism, older people, physical impairment and or sensory impairment in Westmorland and Furness Council's administrative area.

Day Opportunities play a key role in supporting disabled and older people to maintain and develop new skills, prevent social isolation, support inclusion and presence in their local communities and provide a break from caring and support for unpaid carers ensuring they can continue to offer ongoing support. The focus of the Framework will be upon outcome-based support, with providers expected to both demonstrate innovative solutions to meet individual needs and clearly evidence how individual outcomes have been achieved.

Cumberland Council are procuring for the provision of a Healthwatch Cumberland Service. This tender relates to the area covered by Cumberland Council - (Carlisle, Allerdale and Copeland).\r \r The main purpose of Healthwatch Cumberland is to act as an independent organisation that champions the views of health and social in Cumberland, to improve the health services Cumberland residents access, to ensure stakeholders work together to achieve this and take account of the views of their service users in shaping and improving health and social care services.\r \r The initial period of the contract is 3 years.
