Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Service

This service is required to deliver the provision, fitting, monitoring, and removal of IUDs, IUSs and SDIs for contraception purposes for women of Leicestershire and Rutland. The service will provide a number of clinics across the geography of the counties and ensure consistent and timely delivery of long-acting reversible contraception. Service aims are: - improve sexual health outcomes - improve access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) to Leicestershire and Rutland residents as part of a range of contraceptive options - to raise awareness of the benefits of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)by providing high quality advice, support and information on the full range of contraception methods to all those on or seeking contraception - to increase knowledge of LARC and mainstream contraception amongst healthcare professionals - to increase knowledge of risks associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and refer to appropriate services - to help contribute to a reduction in the rate of unplanned pregnancies, particularly in under 18s. - to enhance professional practice - to enable Providers to be active participants in an integrated multi-disciplinary service to help ensure easy and swift access to advice - to ensure that the availability of post-coital IUD fitting for emergency contraception be more adequately provided as another means of reducing unintended conceptions

Framework Agreement for the Provision of NHS Health Checks 2023

The Leicestershire and Rutland NHS Health Check programme should be delivered in accordance with the contractual and statutory requirements of the GMS/PMS/APMS contracts/agreements. Contracted suppliers must comply with all applicable statutory and other legal requirements and regulations, all relevant voluntary and compulsory codes of conduct, all relevant professional standards and all applicable National Health Service and County Council directives, guidelines and codes, as stipulated in the service specification. The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk The NHS Health Check programme aims to improve the health and wellbeing of adults aged 40-74 years through the promotion of early awareness, assessment, and management of the major risk factors for CVD – risk factors that are associated with premature death, disability and health inequalities. This will in turn reduce levels of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and associated premature mortality in Leicestershire County and Rutland County through primary care; ensuring systematic and proactive identification and management of patients with ≥10% or greater risk of CVD event in next 10 years (based on a 10-year risk equation).
