Family Autism Information Advice and Guidance Service

The Family Autism Information Advice and Guidance Service is not a statutory service. Statutory requirements of the Council in part addressed by this specification includes but is not limited to, the Child Poverty Act, Children Act, 1989, 2004 and 2006, Children and Families Bill, Localism Act 2011 (The Right to Challenge), Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and the Equality Act 2010. The Local Authority must consider if a young person is a child in need or at risk of harm under the 1989 Children Act and 2004 Children Act and it has a duty to provide a range of services to support them to ensure safety and a reasonable standard of health and development. The Provider shall take account of Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child; Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Children's Act 1989 - requiring local authorities to ascertain the 'wishes and feelings' of children and give due consideration (with regard to the child's age and understanding) to these when determining what services to provide, or what action to take.

Cumberland council has awarded 4 providers on to the Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities. The objective of the Targeted Short Break Activities service is to provide families of children and young people with SEND with a short break from each other. This is to give families a break from their caring responsibilities and the child or young person an opportunity to take part in a fun activity. It is the expectation that all Activities will take place in a location within Cumberland. For Activities that include day trips to outside of Cumberland, these should start from a location in Cumberland.

Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities - Open Framework

Cumberland Council is advertising an Open Framework for providers to deliver Targeted Short Breaks for Children with Disabilities.\r The Council is conducting the procurement of this framework using the open procedure in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR) for the purpose of procuring the services described in the Service Specification.\r \r There are Five Lots - \r Lot 1: Weekend Activities\r Lot 2: School Holiday Activities\r Lot 3: School Holiday Activities in Cumberland Special Schools\r Lot 4: Activities based on Specific Needs\r Lot 5: Innovation\r \r The Council will seek to open the Framework to new applications as stated within the ITT.\r It shall be at the Council's sole discretion to open the Framework to new applications more or less frequently, and to decide how long the tender period is open for each time. The Council reserves the right to close the Framework to new applications if in the opinion of the Council there is good reason to do so. In the event the Council determines to exercise its discretion to close the Framework to new applications, it will notify its intention and the period which the Framework will be closed on Find a Tender.\r \r The estimated total value of the Framework for the 16 Months initial term is £241,217.33 excluding VAT. The estimated total value for the initial term plus the one 12 month optional extension is £392,044.33 excluding VAT. The Council does not guarantee any spend against this Framework Agreement.\r \r You must be registered on The Chest (https://www.the-chest.org.uk/) to access the tender documents.
