Ophthalmology- Referral Triage Service

This service is the central point for eye care referrals, with clinicians using this platform to triage and review referrals that will instruct onward care. This ophthalmology referral platform is capable of receiving diagnostic imaging, including OCT, that can be manipulated on review and stored in accordance with the Department of Health-Records Management NHS Code of Practice 2006. Ophthalmology- Eye Casualty Service

NHS Frimley ICB ("the Commissioner") sought to commission provision to provide an Ophthalmology- Eye Casualty Service The integrated model of service between the provider and the Eye Casualty Unit has been designed to optimise an efficient and effective patient journey and to ensure that only patients who would benefit from a higher level of expertise are retained within Eye Casualty. Patients who could be managed by a suitable trained optician with prescribing qualifications by a primary care provider are redirected to the co-located Primary Eye Care Clinic for assessment/treatment. It will also provide contingency capacity for Eye Casualty review patients. The provider delivers specialist eye care for patients needing urgent attention, who are deemed, at triage, to be suitable to be seen by a primary care provider and be based within the King Edward VII Hospital. Through better integration of services and timeliness of treatment, the integrated eye casualty service aims to reduce the need for emergency-based intervention and provide better care and services to patients. Frimley ICB has followed PSR Direct Award C for the contract to which this notice relates.

Talking Therapies NEHF

NHS Frimley ICB ("the Commissioner") sought to commission Talking Therapies Services (previously known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapy IAPT Services). It is estimated that nationally around 17.7% of adults aged 18 and older meet the diagnostic criteria for at least one common mental health disorder and are targeted to enter the Talking Therapies Services. Reducing the prevalence of common mental health disorders is a major public health concern. In 2007 the annual cost to treat depression and anxiety disorders in England was nearly £3 billion, with an additional economic impact of around £13 billion in lost earnings among people of working age. The Talking Therapies Service is based on a stepped model of care offering a range of psychological treatments for patients with mild, mild to moderate, moderate to severe and complex mental health problems. Talk Plus delivers this service across NEHF and has maintained consistently high standards in terms of outcomes quality and wider system impact. The Commissioner is intending to direct award a contract, under Direct Award C, to the existing provider NHUC - Talk Plus in accordance with the criteria outlined in Regulation (9) of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The total value of the contract is £4,175,463 for the one year contract term. The one year period will commence on the 01st April 2025.

The service involves assessment, intervention, evaluation, advice and support which are delivered closer to home and are easily accessed by patients in the East Berkshire area. This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Contract Award Notice A. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.
