3D Metal Printer Lease

The School of Engineering wants to lease a 3D Metal Printer for a fixed term of 3 years with the option to extend for up to an additional 2 years. The metal printer will support world-leading research utilising new materials and printing methods and extend the capability of the 2D and 3D printing currently undertaken within the School. Applications for metal printing can be found in aerospace, defence, automotive, healthcare, and many other industries and will lead to revolutionary new medical, electronic, mechanical, optical, acoustic, heat transfer, and sensing devices being designed and manufactured. This is due to the many advantages, including design flexibility, product customisation, and minimisation of material waste, that printing offers over subtractive manufacturing. The use of Additive Manufacturing (AM) means that geometries are no longer constrained to the limited base stock that components are traditionally machined from. Conservation of eight major pieces of artwork of national significance. * All require examination, but required work could include: • Onsite visit to inspect artwork (Essential prior to quotes being submitted) • Surface cleaning to remove ingrained dirt. • Removal of patchy varnish and poor-quality retouching • Removal of heavy, glossy varnish. • Make good old repair works. • Removal of leaching and treatment in those areas, followed by retouching previous damage as necessary. • May require varnishing with a non-yellowing varnish for future protection. • Each frame will require cleaning. • Some frames will require replacement of lost plaster work. • Canvas retention. Property Refurbishments Queensbury Gardens and Piccadilly Rd, Burnley

Burnley Borough Council (the Contracting Authority) are inviting Tenders from organisations (Bidders) that have the resources, capabilities and capacity to undertake full house refurbishment works, to 43 Queensberry Road Burnley BB11 4LH and 47 Piccadilly Road Burnley BB11 4PU. Works can include patch pointing, replacement gutters, sandblasting & painting walls, windows and door surrounds, re roofing, kitchen extensions, plastering, re wiring etc. Further detailed information is provided in the 'Pre Construction Information' document (see appendix 1) and includes client and management considerations, environmental restrictions, risk assessments, design and construction hazards, health and safety requirements and plans, method statements; and also see 'Schedule' for the properties (see Appendix 4a and 4b) This project is in compliance with Construction (Design & Management Regulations) 2015. Glovers Project Services Limited have been appointed by the Council as the principal designers for the project. It is anticipated this will be an 12 week contract running through mid September to late December 2023. However the successful Bidder will be required to demonstrate and apply flexibility as some of this work may be weather dependent and actual dates will be agreed between the Council and the Bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to enter into a JCT Minor Works contract with the Council.
