GB-Newcastle upon Tyne: T23/0125 - Hall Effect System

We are looking to acquire a Hall effect system to measure resistivity/conductivity, carrier mobility and carrier concentration and type in semiconductor thin films. The system must be well suited to measure transparent conductive oxides as well as solar absorbers such as Sb2(S, Se)3, Cu2ZnSn(S, Se4) and related materials typically deposited on glass substrates. The system should be compact and benchtop and capable of reliably measuring thin film samples in van der Pauw mode with low mobility down to 0.01 cm cm2/V. s with resistances from 10 m-ohm to 1 giga-ohm without compromising the measurement quality of samples with high mobility.

The University of Sheffield's department of Physics and Astronomy are looking to procure 2 types of closed-cycle cryostat systems for optical spectroscopy of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs). Lot 1 - Optical Table Cryostat for Photoluminescence Imaging: A closed-cycle cryostat system is required for optical spectroscopy of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs). The principal uses will be for micro-photoluminescence and photoluminescence imaging from self- assembled InGaAs QDs in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Lot 2 - Standalone Optical Cryostat for Long Duration Measurements: Up to 2 closed-cycle cryostat systems are required for optical spectroscopy of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs). The principal use will be for micro-photoluminescence measurements of self- assembled InGaAs QDs in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, in particular long-duration measurements under resonant laser excitation that require very high stability and low vibration.
