Provision of an Aftercare Service for Survivors of Rape and Sexual Assault across Merseyside

An Aftercare Service for the Survivors of Rape and Sexual Assault (delivered pan-Merseyside to every Local Authority) by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (PCC), working in partnership with Local Authority areas and NHS England. This will enable the provision of a holistic and joined-up aftercare service for survivors of rape and sexual assault throughout the region. Service delivery will include Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) provision, with seamless transition into the PCC’s cope and recovery counselling and aftercare service. Local authority funding is intended to provide enhanced ISVA provision, with Wirral funds specifically focussed on enhanced counselling provision. Additional funding, provided by NHS England, will allow for enhanced ISVA provision, delivered pan—Merseyside, this will support service provision delivered by other Partners to this agreement and represents an additional offer to the entire Merseyside region.

Provision of Child Exploitation Support and Missing from Home and Care Services

A pan-Merseyside Child Exploitation (CE) support service (delivered within the Merseyside areas of Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, and Liverpool) on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (PCC), with an additional offer for those local authorities working in partnership with the PCC. This will enable the delivery of a dedicated and specialist Child Exploitation service to children and young people who are at risk of child exploitation or have already suffered exploitation, and an enhanced Child Exploitation service for Wirral and St Helens areas. Plus the Provision of a Missing from Home (MFH) and Care service for children and young people in St Helens, Knowsley, Wirral, and Sefton local authority areas.
