Tender for the processing of co-mingled kerbside recyclables

Erewash Borough Council is seeking a Contractor for the processing of co-mingled kerbside recyclables. The Service will include the receipt and sorting of co-mingled dry recycling delivered by the Council, the transportation and delivery of the sorted material to processors and merchants and the further sorting or final disposal of any non-recyclable or other unacceptable waste arising from the sorting process. The intention of the Service is to maximise the recovery of dry recycled materials whilst ensuring the most financially advantageous position for the Council. Dry Mixed Recycling Waste Delivery Location Rutland County Council

The Council invited tenders for the supply of services in respect of a delivery location for the County's dry mixed recycling either as a Materials Recovery Facility or a station where the waste is bulked and then moved to a secondary location for initial treatment/sorting The Council's Waste Collection Contractor collects co-mingled recyclate from all Rutland households. The majority of collections are from 240litre wheeled bins, with some collections being from larger/communal bins and a very small number of collections being bagged. These collections also incorporate a small number of 'commercial' and 'schedule 2' properties. The Council's DMR collections are on alternate weeks to collections of Residual Waste, so the Contractor should expect 'on weeks' and 'off weeks' in terms of the Council's DMR waste flows. The DMR will be directly delivered to the Delivery Points in standard refuse collection vehicles, with the DMR being subject to compaction. The Council's DMR material consists of the following Target Recyclable Materials: a. aerosol cans; b. aluminium foil; c. cardboard; d. cans and tins, drink and food, mixed ferrous and non-ferrous; e. glass bottles and jars, mixed; f. magazines, newspapers and pamphlets; g. paper, mixed, including catalogues, envelopes, mail, telephone directories and Yellow Pages; h. plastic bottles, mixed; i. plastic film; j. plastic pots, trays and tubs; and k. Tetrapak.

Green Waste Treatment Delivery Location Rutland County Council

The Council invited tenders for the supply of services in respect of a Primary Delivery Point for Green Waste. This may be a facility where the Council's Green Waste will be treated, or this may be a facility where the Council's Green Waste will be bulked up for onward haulage to a Secondary Facility where it will be treated. The Council's Waste Collection Contractor collects organic garden waste from 240 litre wheeled bins from the majority of Rutland households, i.e. excluding properties where waste collections are from larger communal bins and a very small number of properties where waste collections are bagged. For the purpose of this Agreement, all such organic garden waste is defined as the Council's Kerbside Green Waste. The Council suspends its Kerbside Green Waste collections for: a. three weeks in each December; and b. two weeks at the start of each January; and c. two weeks at the start of each February. The Council's Kerbside Green Waste will be directly delivered to the Delivery Points in refuse collection vehicles, with the Council's Kerbside Green Waste being subject to compaction. The Council also accepts organic garden waste at two Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). For the purpose of this Agreement this material is defined as the Council's HWRC Green Waste. The Council's HWRC Green Waste will be delivered to the Delivery Points in 'roll on roll off' containers, with the Council's HWRC Green Waste sometimes being subct to compaction. Both the Council's Kerbside Green Waste and the Council's HWRC Green Waste shall be collectively defined as the Council's Green Waste. The Council's Green Waste will be subject to seasonal variations in waste flows.
