Futures Framework

The Futures Framework is a register of consultants and researchers that can be called upon by HM Government (HMG) Departments and Agencies and UK public bodies to support conducting work to think strategically about the long term future (herein called Futures) and further developing these capabilities in government. The demand for Futures work, and other ‘fields’ that can help people to think about the long term future (e.g. systems analysis, present-day scanning, decision making support), in government is currently outstripping the capacity of the government’s expertise. The Futures Framework will assist policymakers to quickly and with minimal cost identify and procure Futures and related services and capability development opportunities. The Framework will be used by government departments and agencies to support a range of activities, including, but not limited to, the techniques in the Government’s published Futures Toolkit.

This project is to understand the UK AI Sector's contribution to the UK economy. This will build supporting evidence across all three pillars outlined in the strategy. Building on the work of the initial AI sector study, the supplier will undertake updated analysis on the UK Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector's contribution to the UK economy, providing robust evidence to inform government policy making. Four Outputs will include: 1. Identifying all AI firms in the UK. 2. Create a dataset that captures economic estimates and business demographics of UK AI firms. 3. Present the Data in a user-friendly dashboard to enable further analysis in DSIT. 4. Replicating the previous 2022 report by drafting a statistical report.

A review of ESRC's investment into the Impact Acceleration Accounts

***** THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION ***** This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the CCS RM6126 Framework Brief Description of Requirement The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) wishes to commission an independent contractor to collect evidence relating to the impact of ESRC Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAAs) in rounds one (2014 to 2018) and two (2019 to 2023). This work is likely to involve a ombination of review and analysis of existing monitoring and reporting information collected by ESRC and supplementary focused interviews with a sample of Research Organisations (ROs) and Independent Research Organisations (IROs) that have received IAAs in one or both of these rounds, and possibly key ESRC senior staff and wider external stakeholders. The deliverables for this study will be: A report that draws out headline messages on the overall impact of ESRC IAAs in, focusing on what has changed as a result of funding across the first two cohorts (2014 to 2018 and 2019 to 2023) and how, as well as learning on what has or has not worked well and why; and an small number of depth case studies focused on specific successes.
