GB-Lambeth: AWARD NOTICE - Equitable Futures Disability Consultant Trainer

IWM is looking for a disability consultant to create training materials for c.40 digital volunteers on our Accessible Pasts, Equitable Futures project. The consultant will work with the project lead to identify possible training opportunities and ways of creating accessible training for remote volunteers. The goal of this part of the project is to trial using digital volunteers to create accessibility information about a collection of 200 digital museum items. This tender is going out to ask a company/individual to create training materials for volunteers who will produce alt-text, long description, transcription, audio description, and other narrative descriptions of IWM collections. We will be using Zooniverse as a platform for this trial, although we are currently planning to keep the trial private, only using IWM volunteers. This is a funded project with a budget range of between £11k-£13k (inc. VAT). Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

Disability Access to Heritage Project - Research Phase - AWARD

This Invitation to Tender covers a period of research and reporting on the current status of disabled people in heritage - across jobs and careers, volunteering, and participation and visiting. Tenderers should reach out to a wide range of people through focus groups, individual interviews, and other established research methodologies, and record their experiences and views. This should form the basis of qualitative and quantitative evidence that can influence Historic England strategy and action planning on disability inclusion in the sector. Tenderers should have experience in working with disabled people, across the diversity of people this represents, and to work with them in an informed, ethical, equitable manner. As part of the research process, the tenderer should speak to; - Disabled people currently working, volunteering, and visiting / participating in heritage - Disabled people not currently working, volunteering, and visiting / participating in heritage - Disabled people who have left the sector due to their experiences - Disabled students on heritage based courses or those studying disability culture, history, heritage or access - Organisations led by, representing, and working with disabled people
