Description

Gloucestershire County Council undertake a coring programme on various road sites on an annual basis.
The extent of the sites and the number of cores on each site cannot be pre-determined, however based on previous years' experience and budgets going forward we anticipate between 500 and 1500 cores per year will be required, however this quantity is indicative only and cannot be the guaranteed quantity of cores for either of the contract years.
The majority of the works will be for highways schemes, but there will be an element of coring for the Streetworks team.
The scope of works is:
•     The depth of existing carriageway bituminous layers.
•     Establish if tar is present in the carriageway construction.
•     If tar is suspected that it is tested to establish the PAH content.
The contact form will be the NEC 4 Engineering and Construction Short contract.
Iniital duration is 2 years, with the option of 1 year extension.
The total estimated value of the proposed 3-year coring works contract is £468,000.
