Description

The No. 1 Aeronautical Information Documents Unit (No. 1 AIDU) is responsible for processing aeronautical information used in navigation, flight planning, terrain and obstacle awareness, and flight deck displays. This work is carried out using the latest quality management principles, as the information directly impacts flight safety.
Due to the nature of the data being processed, No. 1 AIDU must comply with European Directive 76B (ED-76B), in line with standards set by the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE). Consequently, No. 1 AIDU has identified the need to assess its processes against ED-76B to maintain annual re-accreditation over a three-year period, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

North East Franchising Scheme Assessment Independent Audit

This opportunity is to enter into Contract(s) for Service with Provider(s) for an Independent Auditor of the North East Combined Authority's (North East CA) Bus Franchising Scheme Assessment. On 30 July 2024 the North East Mayor Kim McGuiness and Cabinet approved a project to undertake a Franchising Scheme Assessment (FSA) and the Authority is currently preparing an assessment of the proposed bus franchising scheme in accordance with section 123B of the Transport Act 2000 as amended by the Bus Services Act 2017 (the "Act"). The FSA is delivered collaboratively with partners across the region, supported by specialist consultants, with a cabinet decision on whether to proceed to Audit expected in March 2026. As part of meeting the requirements of the Act, if a decision is made to proceed to obtaining a report from an [auditor][independent approved person], the Authority will require a suitably qualified organisation (the "Auditor") to undertake an audit of the Assessment and to provide an opinion in relation to the following areas required by section 123D of the Act: • Whether the information relied on by the Authority in considering the matters referred to in section 123B(3)(d) of the Act (the affordability of the scheme) or section 123B(3)(e) of the Act (the value for money of the proposed scheme) is of sufficient quality; • Whether the analysis of that information in the Assessment is of sufficient quality; and • Whether the Authority had due regard to the Guidance issued under section 123B of the Act in preparing the Assessment. The objective of this project is to deliver an independent audit to the North East CA of the FSA in accordance with relevant requirements of the Act.

Information Advice Quality Framework

This procurement exercise is being conducted on behalf of the Welsh Government to establish a contract for an Information and Advice Quality Framework. The tender was originally published in September 2025, however the procurement was terminated and is now being retendered. The IAQF was published in 2019 and many independently owned Advice Quality Standards operating in the UK have now applied for and been awarded IAQF Approved Accrediting Body status. An advice provider in Wales, who holds a quality standard awarded by an IAQF accredited body, is able to display the IAQF logo, demonstrating that their service has been independently assessed as meeting the Welsh Government’s expectations of a quality assured advice service. The IAQF continues to seek to provide a consistent approach to ensuring and assuring quality information, advice and guidance for the people of Wales. The successful bidder will be required to a provide a range of support services through the new contract which will include: • Management of all processes relating to the successful operation of the Information and Advice Quality Framework for Wales (IAQF) Independent Assessment Service. • Managing the reassessment process of existing IAQF Accredited Bodies for Standards Owners who wish to become quality assured under an Advice Quality Standard with the IAQF.• Provide guidance, support and advice to Standard Owners. • Develop and implement a Wales wide communication strategy to raise awareness of the IAQF amongst stakeholders,• Engage with other funders of advice services, including local authorities, to promote and encourage the use of Welsh Government’s approach and only fund advice providers who hold an Advice Quality Standard awarded by an IAQF Accredited Body.• Deliver advice and practical support to advice service providers, helping them apply for a quality standard for the first time. • Provide expert advice to Welsh Government to improve the service. • Explore options and share findings with Welsh Government on ways to support smaller providers to prepare for and/or undergo the audit processes to gain accreditation to an Advice Quality Standard. The successful bidder will be awarded an initial 12-month contract with options to extend for a further 12 + 12 months for up to a maximum of 3 years.
