Description

This is notice of a planned procurement opportunity to perform Planned Maintenance and Safety Equipment Recertification (MSER) for the Border Force Patrol Vessel HM Cutter Valiant. The work will be needed between 9th February and 4th March.
This notice is issued to enable potential bidders to prepare for, and express an interest in, this work.
The requirement will include the Inspection, Testing and Certification of Safety Equipment as well as general Vessel Maintenance Tasks. Modifications and Defect Rectification will also be required.
The full requirement will be provided at Tender stage, expected to be at the end of November 2025
The regional location for this opportunity will be based on operational activity and confirmed when the Tender Opportunity is launched.

Defra Group Fleet Services (DGFS) are responsible for operating the safest, greenest, most cost-effective fleet assets across the Defra Group. DGFS are happy for suppliers to use subcontractors to meet its requirement of a nationally available service. This specification also includes the hire and purchase of marine craft, vessels, plant, trailers, marine outboards and safety equipment. DGFS require a single supplier, with the use of subcontractors where required, capable of delivering a national SIMAR, hire and purchase service. The contract supports DGFS’ ongoing marine and environmental responsibilities and requires a provider with specialist experience in marine vessel maintenance, regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
