Description

Lift Replacement & Associated Works for Furness College, Tower Avenue, Bailrigg, Lancaster, LA1 4YW. The project involves the complete replacement of the passenger lift. The existing lift shall be replaced in its entirety with a new traction MRL (Machine Room-Less) installation, including all associated building and electrical works. Further details as per the Specification.
SITE VISIT: The University will host a mandatory accompanied site visit.  Site visits shall be arranged by appointment through the designated contact, John Stead (email: [email protected], tel: 07977190451). Tentative dates for site visits are 11th and 16th December; however, alternative dates may be accommodated upon request where the proposed dates are not suitable to the contractor.
PLEASE NOTE: Any queries/clarifications regarding this ITT must be directed via the e-tendering portal using the clarification or correspondence function, and not sent directly to any individual. 
The University regularly reviews its governance and income and has determined that it is not a 'contracting authority' for the purposes of the Procurement Act 2023 however, from time to time, we voluntarily follow the Act.

Provision of Lift Service & Maintenance

It shall be the duty of The Service Provider to carry out the operation, inspection and maintenance of all lifts plant, including servicing and completing repairs, as contained within the Specification. This will also include: Providing a high quality maintenance service that will fulfil The Authorities obligations to their staff and lift users. The list of Authorities are: • Blackpool Borough Council (The Council) • Blackpool Coastal Housing (BCH) BCH have been named as a Contracting Authority for the purposes of this tender however, it is not known at this stage whether they will be progressing to their own contract award. Therefore, for any requirements identified for BCH, this element is not guaranteed. Any agreement for their requirements will be a separate contract with the service provider and will be managed by BCH. Blackpool Borough Council also manage the lift maintenance on behalf of Fylde Borough Council. These assets are included within this provision and within the pricing schedule. Blackpool Borough Council are further taking over management of Wyre Borough Council's assets. These may or may not be included from the commencement of the contract due to current arrangements in place. It is anticipated they will be 'on board' by mid 2026.
