Description
Central Bedfordshire Council requires the establishment of a cycle hire scheme with the provision of up to 100 and a minimum of 50 pedal bicycles across four towns.

Houghton Regis
Houghton Regis has a population of approximately 20,000 people. We expect the cycle hire scheme to serve at least 12 locations within this town with at least six locations to be sited within the Bidwell West and Linmere developments as these are providing most of the available scheme funding for this area.
Leighton Buzzard
The combined conurbations of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade have a population of approximately. 43,000. We expect the cycle hire scheme to serve at last 12 locations within these towns with at least six locations to be sited within the Chamberlains Barn and Clipstone Park developments as these are providing the majority of the available scheme funding for this area. Cycle parking at each designated location, in the form of Sheffield Stands, will be provided in advance of the scheme's introduction.
Biggleswade
The conurbation of Biggleswade has a population of approximately 22,500. We expect the cycle hire scheme to serve at least 8 locations within this town. Cycle parking at each designated location, in the form of Sheffield Stands, will be provided in advance of the scheme's introduction.
Ampthill
The conurbation of Ampthill has a population of approximately 9,000. We expect the cycle hire scheme to serve at least six locations within this town. Cycle parking at each designated location, in the form of Sheffield Stands, will be provided in advance of the scheme's introduction.
