Description

Delivery of legal advice and representation services in Scotland for the DWP 's Child Maintenance Service linked to the recovery of child maintenance arrears from parents who have a responsibility to pay for children.
The initial contract term for this direct award via the Debt Resolution Service Framework Lot 7 Scottish Litigation is for the period 14/10/25 to 3/8/26 .
There is an optional extension period of 1 year plus 1 year plus a period of  up to 3 months with a maximum end date of 13/12/28. 
The total value of the contract , if fully extended, is estimated to be approximately £15,000 plus VAT (ie £18,000 inclusive of VAT)

For the past few years, CPC has outsourced the contract management of its Legal Services framework agreement for various reasons, one of which being capacity internally. We are now looking to bring this framework back in-house and this tender exercise will form the new iteration of the framework. Provision of Specialist Valuation and Contractual Advice

Orkney Islands Council as a statutory Planning Authority has the means to enter agreements with third parties under Section 75 of the Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 in order to restrict the use of land or regulate the use of land being developed where this is necessary to ensure that a development meets provisions associated with Planning decision. Such provisions may include financial provision through a bond or other means which the Planning Authority may call upon at a later date to ensure that remediation or other works which may be addressed in a planning condition are complete should the original developer no longer intend to discharge that condition. The Council wishes to commission specialist advisors to support a review of historic agreements; and to act as lead advisor to the Council in negotiating and framing future agreements where these are required.
