Hyde has awarded a  multiple source Framework Agreement under 7 Lots for Main Contractor Framework. The framework will cover a wide range of main contractor services. The Framework is primarily for use by The Hyde Group (Hyde) but also for the use of other public sector authorities as defined in the FTS/Contracts Finder contract notice.

Project Tullie Phase 2++ Castle Street: Main Contractor Services ITT

Phase 2++ will see the conservation and adaption of a series of at-risk buildings on Castle Street, part of Carlisle's Historic Quarter. Having sat empty for several years, ownership of the buildings was transferred to the Trust in 2023 with the aim of expanding the museum and bringing new life and purpose to underused buildings, left in a state of disrepair. The Castle Street development project will see the spaces transformed into a series of rooms for community and creative use, including workshop and meeting spaces. The unique location of the buildings will allow for continued public access outside of the museum opening times, increasing accessibility and our inclusive approach to programming activity. As part of Project Tullie Phase 2, works were undertaken to transform the Old City Hall and Gatehouse buildings into meeting, retail and office spaces for the museum. It includes new build projects delivered using traditional methods or modern framed/panelised systems, refurbishment and restoration of existing and listed public buildings, and associated infrastructure works such as highways, sewers, and drainage. Laings Easiform Homes Redevelopment

Laing Easiform homes are a form of non-traditional construction built from the 1920s to 1970s using in-situ poured concrete walls within reusable steel formwork. While not designated as defective under the Housing Defects Act 1984, some dwellings have reached the end of their economic life due to structural deterioration and corrosion of embedded reinforcement. As part of Exeter City Council's wider regeneration and housing quality improvement programmes, a number of Laing Easiform homes were earmarked for reconstruction in 2015. Several homes have since been demolished and rebuilt; however, a number of properties are incomplete following insolvency of the original contractor, resulting in yet to be commenced and part-built structures that have stood dormant for some time. Following a review of options, the current intention is to demolish these partially constructed dwellings. In some cases, this will involve the rebuilding of only one side of a semi-detached pair, where the adjoining dwelling remains occupied and under separate freehold. Exeter City Council is now preparing to re-engage the market to deliver the remainder of the homes, ensuring that the design, construction approach, and delivery model are appropriate to the complexity of the site and the various stages of progress across each of the properties.
