Brief Description of Requirement
The Digital Infrastructure Directorate (DI) within the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is commissioning a final evaluation of the 5G Testbeds and Trials (5GTT) Programme. This procurement seeks to appoint a supplier to deliver a comprehensive impact and economic evaluation of the programme.

Development of vertically straight fusion blanket segment demonstrator including technology development identification

As part of the on-going STEP programme, continued development, learning and understanding of materials and systems is required. As such, the materials team have set out this requirement to better understand the proposed plan for the breeder blankets within the tokomak. This proof of concept, physical scaled demonstrator and broader technology understanding will benefit the programme and allow for further progress to be made. The scaled physical demonstrator that this project will deliver is to demonstrate the manufacturability of ferritic-martensitic steels in the form required to suit the Breeder Blanket design proposed herein.
