NTU is looking to set up a Mechanical & Electrical Works Framework – Lot 1 Mechanical Works up to approximately £500,000; Lot 2 – Electrical Works up to £500,000. NTU Will use further competition to award individual projects. The successful tenderers will form a framework, and it is anticipated this will consist of a maximum four contractors per Lot. The framework will include both physical contract works and, in some cases, require the contractor to design the works they will install. Essentially, this will be a design-and-build service where NTU provides a project brief or performance specification, and the supplier assumes responsibility for developing and installing the solution. The framework must also cover smaller-scale or lower-value remedial works, call-outs, and dayworks.

The Requirement The successful Supplier will be required to design, supply, and install a new swimming pool filtration system at Ladybridge High School. About the School Ladybridge High School is a mixed secondary school (ages 11–16) in Bolton. The school currently has 1,147 pupils on roll. The school operates a busy swimming pool that is used both for curriculum delivery and community lettings. The existing filtration system is original to the 1969 facility and has now reached the end of its operational life. The school is seeking a modern, efficient, and reliable replacement system that will improve water quality, reduce maintenance demands, and ensure long-term operational sustainability. Technical Justification Following a review of the current pool system, usage levels, and the age of the infrastructure, Ladybridge High School wishes to replace its existing filtration system with a solution that reflects current advancements in technology and materials. The objective is to install a system that offers best value, optimal performance, and future readiness. Proposals should address or provide equivalent performance to the following key requirements: •Durability and Longevity: The system should be designed for minimal maintenance and a lifespan of at least 20 years. •Compatibility with Existing Plant Room: The design should be suitable for retrofit installation within the existing plant room, ideally with lightweight and flexible components. •Operational Efficiency: The system must sustain high levels of daily usage without compromising water quality or flow performance. •Energy Efficiency: The system should demonstrate reduced energy consumption and optimised running costs. •Compliance and Safety: All equipment and installation works must comply with Local Authority standards, PWTAG, Water Supply Regulations, and HSG 179 guidelines. Contractors are expected to submit proposals that meet or exceed these technical and operational requirements, or to propose equivalent solutions that achieve the same performance and compliance outcomes.
