Description

Fife Council requires to appoint a Contractor capable of meeting the needs of the Council in relation to the cleaning and sanitising of bin chutes, bins and associated storage areas at various locations throughout Fife. This will include the clearing of blockages within the bin chutes.On a 6 monthly basis the Service Provider will be responsible for maintaining to the standard BS9999 and testing the fire safety (Damper/Plates) of each bin chute, they require to be fully qualified and have a complete understanding of all the safety features included in the installation. Technicians should be able to carry out controlled smoke tests, fire closure plate tests and servicing.
This will involve:
Perform Smoke Seal Testing, Seal Replacement, Damper/Plate Repair or replacement, Hopper Repairs, Hopper Replacement, servicing parts required for functioning.
Fife Council require Inspection Reports detailing any deficiencies and recommendations for corrective actions and to provide a compliant Fire Certification on completion.
Replacement Components where required will be fitted with a rating as guided to comply with BS476 part 20/22 transitioning to BS EN1634-1. associated storage areas at various locations throughout Fife.

Haylock House, Kettering Venture Park, Kettering, NN15 6EY: Fire compartmentation remedials/reinstatements as per condition report/survey • Carry out remedials to the fire stopping at the above named site as highlighted in the supplied Fire Compartmentation report. • The reports highlight deficiencies and their recommended remedials. • Remedials are to be actioned as per the report and a completion report produced to enable cross reference to the original inspection reports. • Each area of repair is to be labelled in situ for identification purposes. • Any request to deviate from the recommended remedials highlighted on the report are to be fully explained with reasons, in writing. • Bidders are required to have 3rd Party certification. For example, FIRAS - Fire Accreditation Scheme, BM TRADA - Timber Research & Development Association, IFCC - International Fire Consultants Certification. • The original full report and a manifest of fire stopping remedials only are provided. You are NOT concerned with fire doors under this tender. Fire Doors are dealt with under a different scheme. • All works are to be carried out in normal working hours unless agreed by client for out of hours working but it would be prudent to include a contingency sum for the out of hours labour element, which would only be drawn down with client agreement.

Carry out compliant remedials to the Fire Doors marked 'FAIL' at the above named site as highlighted on the supplied inspection report • The report highlights deficiencies at the time of inspection • Remedials are to be actioned as per the report and a completion report produced to enable cross reference to the original inspection report. . • Any request to deviate from the remedials highlighted on the inspection report are to be fully explained with reasons and evidence, in writing, for client acceptance, comment or query. • Any request to carry out additional remedials that are not highlighted on the provided inspection report are to be fully explained with reasons, evidence and costs in writing for client acceptance, comment or query. • Any queries re the inspection report reports are to be raised in writing as a 'Request for Information'. • Where doors are highlighted as having air transfer grilles in them, of which the current installs are non-compliant, you are to quote for replacing the door leaf and retain all compliant door furniture and re fit. • Bidders are required to have 3rd Party certification.
