Description

Leeds Museums & Galleries are seeking to work with a company/agency to redesign Abbey House Museum and it's future. It's almost 30 years since the museum last had major investment and we're looking to reimagine what the visitor experience could be for the next 30 years. In November 2024, facing severe financial pressures within Leeds City Council, there was a proposal to close Abbey House Museum to the public as part of measures to save £160,000. In February 2025, elected members decided not to take the proposal forward after a huge show of public support. The service are now looking at what Abbey House Museum’s future could look like and where we can make improvements to future proof the museum for the generations to come.

NHM150 Western Galleries Feasibility - Lead Designer

The Natural History Museum has announced important transformations of its internal spaces ahead of its 150th anniversary. As part of these transformation, the popular Dinosaur Gallery and other ground floor galleries will be restored and the first and second floor Origins Gallery and the Old General Herbarium and other back of house areas, currently closed to the public, will be reopened and returned to public use. In order to enable these transformations, a feasibility study on the Western Galleries will take place by the end of March 2026. The Museum wishes to secure the services of Lead Designer including Heritage Consultant and Building Surveyor services to lead a design team in producing a Feasibility for the refurbishment and adaptation of the Western Galleries and supporting facilities. Medicinal Product Trial -Metformin

The trust was successful in obtaining a grant from NIHR for a clinical trial to look at the use of metformin in people newly diagnosed with psychosis. The clinical trial (including the recruitment phase) is estimated to take place between June 2026 to November 2028. As part of that grant we need to source a supplier that has the capability to purchase or manufacture Metformin and an identical placebo for a clinical trial, to package and label both to our requirements and distribute to Trusts across the UK in a predetermined schedule.
