Description
Tom Huyton Park Radstock is a city spec play park in a Town Centre location. The Park is adjacent to the Greenway and cycling network and receives regular visits from many local families. Known as a destination park it caters for both toddlers through to older children, with the well-known Octi-play as the central piece of play equipment. The park was initially created in 1998 and much of the equipment although maintained is nearing end of life. The Town Council has been maintaining the park since the creation of Radstock Town Council in 2011 and currently reviewing a new lease with Bath & NE Somerset. A plan is required to upgrade the equipment and realise the cost implications of the park. Some of the equipment is repetitive and it would be good to include options for public consultation for any improvements to the area. This will be the second phase of upgrades to the park. The Ability area receiving upgrades in 2021. Replacement Park Equipment for Area 2 (Children Zone 6-10yrs old) Replacement of: - Zip wire (similar replacement). - Multi-play Unit /Pongo (new idea) - Bruge Unit (new idea) - Making good current wet pour surfacing throughout park. - The works would be preferred to be completed for Summer 2023 - It is hoped the work will not require the whole park to be closed. The Town Council have a preference steal/metal play equipment over wood. There is also a hope that a train could be introduce link to the heritage of the area. ROSPA Inspection required on completion. Applications to: Town Clerk - George Clutten 01761 437962 [email protected]
