Description

The delivery of Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance Services to schemes and estates owned and managed by Thrive Homes. Lot 1 was Cleaning Services with estimated annual value of 400,000.00 GBP. Lot 2 was Grounds Maintenance Services with estimated annual value of 300,000.00 GBP.
Both contracts are subject to annual reviews by Thrive Homes, and are intended to run for a period of three years with the option for renewal for an extension of up to a further two years. The maximum duration of the contracts is therefore five years. The total contract value(s) within this notice are not guaranteed. The total contract value(s) is also subject to inflation.

Building Maintenance Services

It is the intention of the University to establish a contract with a single, competent contractor for the comprehensive provision of building services maintenance services across its estate. The purpose of this contract is to ensure a consistent, efficient, and high-quality approach to maintaining the University’s buildings, supporting both statutory compliance and operational excellence. The successful contractor will be required to deliver the following core services: Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) The contractor shall develop and implement a structured PPM programme covering all critical building systems, fabric, and equipment. This programme must be designed to: - Extend the lifespan of assets - Minimise unplanned downtime and disruption - Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and statutory regulations - Maintain accurate maintenance records and schedules - Include provisions for equipment that remains under manufacturer or supplier warranty, ensuring that a required parts or components are sourced and supplied in accordance with the terms of the warranty, at no additional cost to the University Emergency Maintenance Response (24/7 Coverage) - The contractor must provide around the clock emergency support service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service shall: - Respond promptly to urgent issues affecting health and safety, security, or core operations - Deploy qualified personnel within agreed response times - Offer clear communication and incident reporting protocols The contractor will be expected to demonstrate the capacity and resources necessary to deliver services across multiple University sites, including academic buildings. These buildings will be: - Kydd Building - Old College Building - Library Building - Annie Lamont Café Building The university places a strong emphasis on sustainability, health and safety, and cost efficiency, and expects the appointed contractor to support these strategic priorities throughout the duration of the contract.

Grass Cutting Contract 2026-28 Middleton Cheney Parish Council

Middleton Cheney Parish Council cuts grass seasonally on open spaces and verges including strimming, blowing, shrub maintenance and weed control. The work comprises of maintaining grass on amenity spaces managed by the Council including play areas, a village green and a cemetery, together with local authority verges. The height of cut to be appropriate for the use of each space and as agreed with the Officer. To also include strimming around grave markers, head stones, play equipment, outside furniture, path edges, trees, bushes, fences, hedges and all other authorised site fixtures and fittings. To include grass removal from all play safety surfaces as well as footpaths and seating areas by sweeping or blower. Although a specific number of cuts has been set for the tender these may be varied according to seasonal grass growth and by agreement with the Officer Only. Site Details Middleton Cheney Cemetery, which requires weekly grass cutting and strimming undertaken with the due care and respect that a site of this nature requires. Stanwell Park and Astrop play area - a large sized traditional children's and family play park, containing open spaces and play equipment as well as seating areas. This excludes the playing fields at Astrop road. Village Main Green - a large rectangle of grass and grass verge on the Main Road in the lower part of the village. Several smaller green spaces on Main Road, The Washle, Bull Baulk and Stanwell. These do not contain any equipment other than benches. Roadside verges. Before tendering the Contractor is advised, at his/her own discretion, to visit the sites to satisfy themselves as to the full extent of the Contract Specification. No claims arising from failure to do so will be accepted. An accompanied tour of the zones will be available if booked in advance with the Clerk, or the Contractor is welcome to view the zones independently at any time in advance. The contractor will use their professional discretion and all information available to them to liaise with the Council where alterations to the schedule may be needed, e.g. in times of drought. Maintenance of footpaths should be considered ad hoc, to include at least one yearly weed spraying and one separate strim. The contract term is 3 years and covers the satisfactory completion of the works outlined in this document. The award of the contract is dependent on evidence of appropriate public liability insurance, professional qualifications and policies. Any considerations not identified in this document may be addressed with the Council at the point of tender, or negotiated with the Clerk and Council as they arise. Completed and signed copies of the Tender Form and Declaration & Company Details Form should be received at the Middleton Cheney Parish Council offices by MONDAY 29th SEPTEMBER 2025 at the latest.
