The Christmas Switch-on is a free family event which takes place the first Saturday following Remembrance Sunday in November of each year. Dartford has hosted the event for over 20 years. 
The Big Day Out, now in its 4th year is a free 2-day family fun weekend held in Central Park in July each year

The Palace Theatre Newark is a receiving house, located in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It is an historic and beloved local institution, with a capacity of 638 patrons per performance. Annually, it runs a Pantomime season of at least 40 performances over the December period. In 2024, over 22,700 patrons attended from both within, and beyond the Newark and Sherwood District. NSDC is seeking to continue delivering and growing it's Pantomime offer, in conjunction with an experienced Pantomime Production Company.
