School Sport Survey 2026

Sport Wales wishes to commission an agency to undertake the development and delivery of the 2026 School Sport Survey during 2025-2026. Questionnaire Development: The successful provider will work closely with Sport Wales to develop two bilingual, national scale questionnaires for pupils and teachers in Wales. Emphasis is placed on facilitating the design of an engaging and accessible survey experience for pupils by providing innovative survey-design solutions, drawing on relevant guidance and expertise , and implementing user research methods and piloting techniques. Webhosting: The successful contractor will provide a secure and scalable webhosting solution capable of supporting two concurrent, bilingual national-level surveys. The platform must be capable of handling high traffic volumes while offering an engaging and accessible user experience. The platform must comply with relevant data protection regulations, provide real-time tracking of completion rates, and enable efficient, secure export of survey data in appropriate formats. The successful contractor will also be required to generate and disseminate survey links and follow-up reminders to all schools in Wales. Monitoring & Support: The successful contractor will be responsible for providing real-time monitoring of response rates and the number of outstanding pupil responses required [against defined quotas]. Access to real-time monitoring will also be provided to key stakeholders [Sport Wales and Sport Partnerships] throughout the duration of the fieldwork. The successful contractor will also be responsible for providing ongoing technical support to Sport Wales and key stakeholders [Sport Partnerships, Local Authorities and Schools]. The successful contractor will provide ongoing technical and user support throughout the survey period, including performance monitoring, uptime assurance, troubleshooting, and responsive user helpdesk services [to participating schools]. Outputs & Reporting Requirements: The successful contractor will be responsible for managing cleaning of the raw data file, and production of key derived variables. The contractor will be responsible for the secure transfer of the raw data files to Sport Wales, for use in appropriate data analysis software [i.e., CSV, STATA, SPSS etc.]. The successful contractors will also be required to detail whether they can undertake and manage data weighting procedures. The the successful contractor will be required to provide a technical report, detailing key decisions and procedures taken throughout the project. The successful contractor will also be required to work with Sport Wales to consider and produce an impact and evaluation review. The successful contractor will be required to work with Sport Wales to determine optimal dissemination of findings to key stakeholders, such as via reports, data tables, and/or data dashboards in a timely manner. Quality Assurance & Risk Management The successful contractor will provide an appropriate quality assurance and risk management strategy for this project. Broad Project Timelines The successful contractor will be responsible for adhering to the key project milestones outlined within the attached tender document. SPF-funded Y&NYCA Farm Carbon Audits 2025-26

York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) has been allocated with UK Shared Prosperity Funds (UKSPF) for 2025-2026. YNYCA, with advice from the Grow Yorkshire Partnership (GYP), aims to undertake a programme which can support the transition of farms to financial and environmental sustainability. The York and North Yorkshire Local Growth Plan highlights that food and farming innovation is a key sector within the region and the Route-map to Carbon Negative shows that there is a need for the agricultural sector to reduce emissions. Through the route-map, it has been identified that the key areas of emissions for agriculture in the region are livestock, soils and machinery. Previously, YNYCA through UKSPF has enabled farms to consider specific opportunities and emissions with the Farm Sustainability Programme providing farms with either; energy audits, renewable feasibility studies, soil carbon testing and biodiversity net gain assessments. These have enabled farms to consider certain areas where improvements can be made to achieve production efficiencies, lower overhead costs and make carbon savings. Understanding whole-farm carbon emissions is crucial to enabling both increased productivity but also reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. There is a need for a whole-farm approach to assessing key sources of emissions, to enable farms to target reduction strategies to those areas of the farm with the biggest challenges. Energy is often a limited or small source of emissions on farms, compared to feedstock, fertilizers and livestock. Farming practices and the interaction between different resource-uses can impact emissions, which should be understood by whole-farm assessments. To ensure that farms have an opportunity to consider whole-farm emissions and target approaches to reduce costs and key sources of emissions, YNYCA is procuring Farm Carbon Audits along with follow-up farm business advice.

Sector development framework

The MCA needs to understand better the role that MCA-led sector development activities can play in the success and growth of the LGP Priority and Key Sectors because they are significant levers for delivery of the West of England Strategic Framework and the LGP itself. What works, how does it work, and what are the opportunities for and barriers to effective sector development activity in the West of England that have not yet been deployed or overcome? This will then help the MCA to clearly identify and structure the Economy & Skills Directorate's sector development and inward investment activities and inform the strategic/economic case within a forthcoming business case to establish a redesigned sector development service. The MCA wishes to commission expert(s) with demonstrable knowledge of our LGP Priority and Key Sectors and experience in sector development/support. This is to undertake work that gives the MCA a greater understanding of the way it can support nationally significant sector growth and delivery of our regional priorities for residents and businesses through a targeted and effective sector development service. As such, the commission is a discrete piece of work to inform the Economy & Skills' Directorate's internal planning of its economic development services. The piece of work being commissioned will identify existing or desirable support systems and interventions for the growth of our regional Priority and Key Sectors (regardless of by whom these are (to be) delivered). It will explore and recommend the role the MCA 's sector development service can play in improving or accelerating such support, including grasping opportunities and overcoming barriers identified. While this will differ from sector to sector, we seek to design a high level 'sector development blueprint' that outlines the high-impact, repeatable interventions applicable across sectors. Sector development interventions identified might include addressing funding gaps, commercial infrastructure, trade and inward investment, supply chain development, skills need, comms, or business support, as well as more general cluster support components such as governance structures, stakeholder involvement, sector leadership and broad sector development programmes. Proposals will need to be achievable alongside expected resource availability. Reference should be made to best practice in place in the West of England and elsewhere, nationally and internationally. A clear connection should be made at all times between the Priority and Key Sector support and its impact on high economic growth and delivery of our regional priorities. The work should identify key failure mechanisms of sector development activities to aid risk management and planning.
