Description

The Bedford Borough Council (the authority) invites tenders for Grounds Remediation at Sheerhatch Primary School for a contract term of 7 weeks (3 weeks mobilisation, 4 weeks completion) with no option to extend. The Council intends to enter into a contractual arrangement with the successful bidder in accordance with the Specification documents and the Requirements set out in the contract document of this ITT. 
      This project relates to the controlled removal of asbestos contaminated land and soil remediations works at the Sheerhatch Primary School playing field site. The site is an area of made up ground where the presence of asbestos has been found and it is suspected that this asbestos originated from the demolition of redundant building as well as fly tipping.

The Industrial Dwellings Society (1885) Ltd( IDS) wishes to invite interested organisations ( Potential Suppliers) to participate in a procurement process to award two Contracts for the Supply of Asbestos Surveys and Asbestos Removal Works. The Suppliers appointed under these Contracts will deliver Asbestos Surveys and removal works in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulation 2012, Waste Carrying licenses and all other HSE requirements. Lot 1 covers Removals and Disposal ( Works) Lot 2 covers Asbestos Survey ( Services) This procurement exercise has been labelled as Services as Lot 2 Is estimated to be worth more from a financial perspective. The key output requirements including but not limited to for the Asbestos Surveys are as follows: • Suppliers must as a minimum be United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited. • Suppliers must as a minimum be accredited to International Standard ISO/IEC 17025 (Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.) • Suppliers will be expected to obtain and analyse samples of suspected asbestos-containing materials (ACM). • Undertake management or refurbishment/demolition asbestos surveys on IDS's stock where necessary. • Undertake re-inspection surveys where required. • Provide support to IDS when dealing with Contractors during any asbestos removal works. • Provide advice to IDS about any potentially high risk asbestos related products identified during the survey. • Inform IDS of any changes within the industry which may affect IDS's asbestos management plans. • Updating of IDS's Asbestos Register where required. We will ensure that the IT systems used by Supplier/s are compatible with IDS's systems. • In order to meet the requirements of the 'duty to manage asbestos' under regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the asbestos surveyor must be able to: - Provide evidence of suitable competence and training; - Demonstrate independence and impartiality; - Have effective management and quality systems in place; - Carry out the work in accordance with recognised guidance which is HSG264 - Asbestos: The Survey Guide. Please be aware that the Procurement is divided into Lots. Lot 1 - Asbestos Removal and Disposal Contract value across 3 years- £120,000 Lot 2 - Asbestos Survey- 933 Surveys across the 3 year duration of the contract Contract value - £120,000.

We are inviting expressions of interest from qualified and licensed sub-contractors for the delivery of our Asbestos Removal Package as part of an upcoming project. This package will involve the safe removal, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in accordance with all applicable legislation, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. The scope may include both non-licensed and licensed asbestos removal, site assessments, air monitoring, and provision of clearance certificates. Interested sub-contractors must hold appropriate licenses (such as HSE license for licensed work), demonstrate experience in delivering similar works, and operate with robust health, safety, and environmental procedures.
