Description

National Audit Office (NAO) direct awarded a contract to the selected supplier CDW Limited using Healthtrust Europe ICT Solutions framework. 

CDW Limited will be providing Software Asset Management solution to the NAO.

The contract duration will be for  an initial 2 years duration from Friday 23rd May 2025 until Saturday 22nd May 2027. The contract can be extended by further 2, 12 months until Tuesday 22nd May 2029. The estimated contract value will be £160k gross

ICT Managed Service

North Star Housing Group is seeking to appoint a Managed Service Partner (MSP) to provide and support core ICT infrastructure and networks. North Star's current managed service contract terminates in mid-February 2026 and its architecture was designed around a legacy co-location data centre and MPLS network design. Over recent years, North Star has adopted a "Cloud First" strategy for the delivery of its ICT services and many of its legacy systems are now delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. The scope of the MSP contract includes: • Strategic Architecture • Hosting • Wide Area Networks • Local Wired and Wireless Area Networks • Second- and Third-Line Service Desk • Security including Firewall Management • Patching • Backup • Business Continuity • End-User Device Services (limited to provision of thin-client desktop, e.g. Citrix) • Account Management • Monthly Service Reports and Meetings • Onboarding of Services • Rate Card for ad-hoc work

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection service

The requirement for a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection service sits within the BBC Technology and Media Operations group, and specifically the Digital Distribution team. * Digital Distribution has had a Network DDoS Protection service in place since 2016 to protect the BBC’s Internet Network. The purpose of this is to provide a malicious traffic ‘scrubbing’ facility in the event of a volumetric packet-based or protocol-based traffic attack targeting the services on the network and exhausting circuit or server capacity. It forms part of a suite of protection services and techniques required to continually protect the BBC’s Internet edge from attack. * The BBC’s Internet Network carries all the BBC's audience facing traffic and CDN origin traffic. Additionally, it provides transit for the corporate network. The availability of this network and services delivered across it are crucial in maintaining the BBC’s online presence for critical services such as www.bbc.co.uk and BBC iPlayer. * The current DDoS protection service has been provided by the incumbent supplier since 2019. The BBC is now entering a tender process to procure this service from December 2025 and ensure continued network DDoS protection.
