Description

Cambridge City Council requires consultancy support to understand and model the impacts and implications of changes to statutory delivery, specifically around Social Care Provision. At this stage the Council is looking for a consultant to support two phases of works: 

•	Development of Advice and Support (Phase 1) - this phase includes providing advice and support to help with the process of developing a business case for unitary councils, with specific expertise needed on the impact of new unitary authorities delivering Social Care services (Adult's and Children's Social Care, Education & Skills, SEND, Public Health, etc). This phase is anticipated to end in October 2025 at the latest
•	Implementation Planning (Phase 2) - this phase focuses on the development of an Implementation plan alongside the local authority team. This would build on the Implementation and Transition plan that is submitted in Autum 2025 alongside any business cases for new unitary authorities. This phase is anticipated to end in February 2026.

Difference Matters Programme Evaluation and Learning Partner

London's VRU are seeking to commission an Evaluation and Learning Partner for the Difference Matters (DM) programme. This evaluation aims to assess both the implementation and impact of the DM programme in fostering positive outcomes for pupils and schools. It will examine how the programme is delivered, its effectiveness, and its contribution to individual and organisational change. The evaluation will also promote cross-borough learning by identifying and sharing best practice, producing accessible resources, and supporting knowledge exchange to strengthen the programme's long-term impact and sustainability. Peatland Restoration Standard and Technical Guidelines for England and Wales

Peatlands are the world’s largest terrestrial carbon store. When in good condition, these habitats store carbon, as well as providing other ecosystem services. But degraded peatlands are a source of carbon emissions, in the UK this is in the region of 15 MtCO2e each year (2022). Peatlands support a unique but threatened biodiversity, with only peatlands in good or recovering condition supporting the full range of typical peatland species. The restoration of peatland habitats is therefore critical for achieving net zero commitments in and for meeting statutory targets around biodiversity and habitat. This research project seeks to expand our evidence base when considering ‘what good looks like’ for peatland restoration projects. These findings will be used to test and develop a peatland restoration standard (what works, and what we should be aiming for in terms of restoration outcomes) alongside new technical guidelines for the sector
