Hospices provide specialist end-of-life care for patients in our region.  All Hospices hold a current agreement with the ICB and as they own their own estates and facilities, no other provider could be considered for hospice end of life care.  Therefore, Direct Award A is considered appropriate

Provision of an Out of Hospital Service

NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (GICB) seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified organisations that have the necessary capability and capacity to provide Out of Hospital services in Gloucestershire. This service offers short term practical solutions to facilitate a return home from hospital. As well as supporting individuals to adjust and regain confidence as they recover. The service will also offer longer term support through relevant community networks and resources of the provider or by contact with VCS groups and networks. The service will act as single point of access and triage for assisted discharge support for discharge. It will ensure Service users are settled in safely at home after a spell in hospital and support service users to become independent at home again. The service should contribute to the reduction of hospital re-admissions. NHS Gloucestershire ICB is seeking to enter into a contract with the preferred bidder for an initial period of 2-years, with an option to extend for two further periods, each of 1-year duration, commencing 1 October 2025. The cost envelope range for the delivery of this contract is £480,000 to £510,000 per annum for the whole life of the contract (£1,920,000 - £2,040,000 total contract value - 4-years). Bidders unable to provide the services within the cost envelope will be excluded from this procurement. NHS Gloucestershire ICB expects that the service provided will represent value for money and that bidders will be expected to demonstrate this in any offer submitted. Organisations interested in providing this service should request associated Invitation to Tender (ITT) documentation by contacting Paul Wilkinson, Senior Procurement Manager, NHS Gloucestershire ICB at [email protected] no later than 5pm Wednesday 21 May 2025. Completed ITT bids must be submitted no later than noon on Friday 30 May 2025.
