Description

Carterton Town Council is seeking quotes from suitably qualified contractors to provide and install play equipment located in Empire Drive Play Park, Empire Drive, Carterton, OX18 1BZ.

The play park is situated in the middle of a large roundabout within a new housing development in North West Carterton. The play equipment was installed by the developer and over time has now become worn and lost play value.

Following a consultation with local residents, it has been requested that the following equipment be installed to make it safer and more engaging for the young children that play there.

1.	Fenced in play park with accessible gates
2.	Swings baby and a flat seat
3.	Basket swing
4.	A new climbing frame for toddlers and older kids
5.	Slide
6.	Trim trail climbing equipment
7.	Springer or rocker
8.	Spinner
9.	Football goals
10.	Seating
11.	Proper surfacing so that the mud is less of an issue

Safety is a key consideration for this play park, as cars do drive around the 'roundabout.'

Ideally, we are looking to replace all the equipment as it will all need replacing shortly. There is a new see saw installed by the council in 2023 which is to remain as it is and ideally surfacing to be included around it as it gets muddy in the winter time.

Bids will be scored on the following criteria:
a) Value for money - it is essential that all bids are within the agreed budget.
b) Attention to the specification - it is essential that all applications meet the specification above which has been agreed by the Town Council with local residents.
c) Safety - You must demonstrate that you have studied the area and have carefully considered all safety aspects of the park in terms of young children.
d) All prices quoted should be exclusive of VAT.

The Town Council will require electronic and sealed hard copies of all bids, to be received no later than 23:59 on Tuesday 9th April. The sealed hard copies of the bids will be opened at the same time by the Town Clerk in the presence of two councillors.

It is expected that the contract will be awarded on Tuesday 16th April 2024 and that the successful bidder will be notified on Wednesday 17th April 2024.
