Description
South Lanarkshire Council’s Housing and Technical Resources, Property Services requires to establish a multi-disciplinary contract to carry out the Removal and Disposal of Asbestos Materials with subsequent Reinstatement and Remedial Works. Works will consist of 60% asbestos / 40% non-asbestos work. Typical types of reinstatement works will include but not limited to flooring re-instatement, reinsulating lofts, plastering, joinery (including kitchen unit refit), electrical works and plumbing works where scaffolding will be required as and when required. Collecting and disposing of fly tipped material containing an element of asbestos containing material may also be required. For asbestos removal and disposal, contractors must hold and maintain an HSE License and a waste carriers license throughout the life of the contract. Bidders will be asked to demonstrate experience in both the asbestos and non-asbestos works within the forthcoming Invitation to Tender as part of the SPD response. This applies whether the bid comes from a sole bidder, consortium or where any aspect of the contract will be subcontracted.
